Azan (Adhan) or Call to Prayer is a way of calling to prayer in Islam. It is an Arabic word with the linguistic meaning of announcement. It is recited five times a day to inform Muslims about the timings of the five obligatory prayers. There are Three type of Call to Prayer, Azan, Read all type With English Translation. Azan for Fajr Prayer, Azan for Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha Prayer, Call to Prayer Iqama (Prepare for Salah or Standup for Praying).

Call to Prayer, Azan With English Translation

This call to prayer is given at the time of Zuhr prayer, Asr prayer, Maghrib prayer and Isha prayer by muazzen.

اَللَّهُ اَكْبَرُ اَللَّهُ اَكْبَرُ
‘ALLAH is Most Great. ALLAH is Most Great.

Fajr Prayer Azan

In the Fajr call to prayer muezzin recite Aasaalaatu Khaayrum Minan-Nauum two times after Haiya ‘Alal-falah.

Iqama Azan With English Translation

Iqama (also iqamah) is the Islamic second call to prayer (salah), indicating that it is time to begin the prayer. It is recited by an adhan caller, usually a muezzin in a mosque, after the first call to prayer, called the adhan (Azan).

What is the difference between Azan (call to prayer) and Iqama (call to prayer)?

Difference between adhan (azan) and Iqama is after Haiya ‘Alal-falah caller recite two times Qaad Qamatis-salah ( Prayer is ready to establish).

Benefits of Dua after the Azan

There are many benefits of reciting dua after adhan. Its advantages are as follows:

1) Seeking the intercession of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Jabir Ibn Abdullah Radiyallahu Anhu narrated that whoever recites this dua after the Adhan is called, the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said:

“He will receive my intercession on the Day of Resurrection"

(Sahih Al-Bukhari)

2) Our Dua is Accepted

Indeed, Allah Almighty hears every supplication, however, there are many factors that can cause our supplications to be rejected such as disloyalty, arrogance or any other lack of the unseen. It invites us to find encouraging times and intentions to pray as taught by the Prophet and his righteous followers. This includes praying after the call to prayer.

“The supplication made between the adhan and the iqamah is not rejected.”

(Sunan Abi Daud)

Dua After Azan

Jabir bin Abdullah (RA) narrated that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, “Whoever after listening to the Adhan says.

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ هَذِهِ الدَّعْوَةِ التَّامَّةِ، وَالصَّلَاةِ الْقَائِمَةِ، آتِ مُحَمَّداً الْوَسِيلَةَ وَالْفَضِيلَةَ، وَابْعَثْهُ مَقَاماً مَحْمُوداً الَّذِي وَعَدْتَهُ، إَنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ.

‘Allahumma Rabba hadhihi-dda watit-tammah, was-salatil qa’imah, ati Muhammadan al-wasilata wal-fadilah, wa b ath-hu maqaman mahmudan-il-ladhi wa`adtahu,

English Translation of The Dua After Adhan

“O Allah! Lord of this perfect call (perfect by not ascribing partners to You) and of the regular prayer which is going to be established, give Muhammad the right of intercession and illustriousness and resurrect him to the best and the highest place in Paradise that You promised him (of)], then my intercession for him will be allowed on the Day of Resurrection”. (Sahih Al Bukhari, 614)

Others To Be Read Dua Upon Hearing The Azan

Answer the Azan: Responding to the adhan (Azan) by reciting the same words of the muezzin. This recitation should be recited during the Adhan and not after the Adhan. The Prophet (peace be upon him) is mentioned in a hadith:

2) Recite the Selawat upon the Prophet s.a.w.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammad wa-’ala ali Muhammad

Our scholars have encouraged us to recite salawat after the adhan based on the following hadith:

“When you hear the Muazzin, repeat what he says; then invoke the selawat upon me, for everyone who invokes a selawat upon me will receive ten blessings from Allah; then ask Allah to grant al-Wasila (the right to give intercession) for me, which is a rank in Paradise fitting for only one of Allah's servants, and I hope that I may be the one. For whoever asks that I be given the al-Wasila, he will be assured to be given of my Syafaah (intercession).”

What Means to Reciting a Prayer

This usually means reciting a prayer. A person can ask Allah Ta’ala. Asking from the bottom of his heart for the betterment of both this world and the hereafter, such as well-being, protection and forgiveness for himself and his parents.

In addition to that, this is also considered to be one of the blessed times for a Dua to be made. Allah’s Messenger s.a.w. said:

“The supplication made between the azan and the iqamah is not rejected.”
